Hospital Aids are a specialist UK manufacturer and supplier of emergency evacuation equipment and training services, based in Northampton.
Our evacuation aids enable individuals who would require assistance to evacuate a building in an emergency, to be moved quickly to an area of safety. Designed with an emphasis on patient comfort and security, along with the safety of the operators.
Established in 1981, Hospital Aids were innovators in the development of horizontal evacuation equipment with the creation of the ‘Ski’ evacuation range for use in hospitals and care facilities throughout the UK.
Our ‘Ski’ range of equipment has been used to evacuate patients in some high profile fires. The best example was during the Royal Marsden Hospital fire of 2008, when staff at the hospital successfully evacuated more than 40 patients from the fourth floor, on their mattresses, using Hospital Aids Ski Sheets.
We pride ourselves on our close working relationship with fire safety and healthcare professionals, which enables us to develop and source evacuation solutions for the most vulnerable individuals, including patients with specialist or complex care needs, infants, young persons and bariatric individuals.
Many of our products can be modified which enables us to work with you to build prototypes and variations to our ‘standard’ range to meet your specific needs.
We strive to ensure that our customers have the right equipment to suit not only the building design and layout, but the potential users and operators too. We offer free product demonstrations and evaluation days on our evacuation range, throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Once you have the equipment that is right for you, we understand the importance of ensuring staff are knowledgeable and comfortable in its use. We can provide practical evacuation equipment training sessions and train the trainer courses, through a network of moving and handling consultants across the country.
Hospital Aids are ISO 9001 quality standard certified and we continue to implement these standards to guarantee our customers the commitment to quality and service they deserve.
