Next on our calender is the National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers (NAHFO) 2017 annual conference being held at the Mecure Hotel 23rd - 25th May 2017, where we will be exhibiting a range of our fire evacuation equipment.

Care home fire: Two residents dead and 33 rescued

Two residents have died and 33 people have been rescued after a fire broke out at a care home in Hertfordshire.

Three of those rescued were taken to hospital to be treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation, while the other residents were taken to a nearby emergency reception centre.

The blaze broke out at Newgrange care home in Cheshunt at around 5.50am on Saturday morning.

Hertfordshire County Council confirmed the deaths and offered their "deepest condolences" to the families of the deceased.

Our distributors from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Electronic Trading Company (SETRA), had a fantastic experience at the new King Fahad Medical City Hospital last week, where they took part in the KFMC Emergency Awareness Day.

SETRA were there as exhibiting sponsors, representing Hospital Aids product range, which consisted of emergency evacuation solutions for everyone from infants up to bariatric individuals.

Bariatric Rescues on the Rise

Bariatric Rescues on the Rise

Figures obtained by BBC Radio 5 Live show that the number of obese people being rescued by the fire service, because they are too large to move on their own, has gone up by more than a third over the past three years.

'Bariatric' rescues, which involve coming to the aid of severely obese people, who are often stuck in their homes, have increased from 709 in 2012-13 to 944 in 2015-16 - figures collected from all 50 UK fire and rescue services show.
