Exciting prospects for 2015

2014 was a very busy year for Hospital Aids with the further expansion of our product range which we manufacture “in house”.

Our continued work alongside emergency services personnel from the Ambulance and Fire & Rescue Services enabled the development of our most recent innovation, the “EMS Bariatric EvacMat”, which was launched at the Emergency Services Show at the NEC, Birmingham on the 25-26th September. Since its launch we have seen a huge interest in EMS EvacMat in both the UK and the USA where there are currently no other similar products available in the market.

In 2014 we also saw our original bariatric evacuation mat the “Bariatric EvacMat” become a TV star, when it was featured on Channel 5’s Big Body Squad and BBC Scotland’s River City which helped boost awareness of the problems faced by the emergency services and of course the Bariatric EvacMat itself.

Over the next few years we plan to continue to expand our range of bariatric equipment and develop business relationships in the USA in particular, where we see a great market for such products.

Internationally, we had our best ever year supported by our distributors and direct exports, with our main growth area being in Ireland with our distributor Phoenix Safety Training Services and in the USA with Advanced Egress Solutions. The Czech Republic also became a very important market for us and we also saw some promising orders and enquiries from various countries in the Middle East and in particular from Saudi Arabia.

We feel that a contributory factor to our success overseas has been evolving evacuation legislation around the world slowly coming into line with current UK and Irish legislation, as well as the tremendous support that we have received from organisations such as UK Trade and Investment, Medilink and Emita.

We hope that our continual expansion into new international markets around the world and the growth of interest in bariatric products specifically will help to further fuel the success of the company.

In April we achieved ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification, in line with our commitment towards providing a high level of customer satisfaction and continue to implement these standards, to guarantee top quality systems and services for the benefit of our suppliers and customers.

Finally, with our continuing commitment to product innovation we are looking to expanding our product range during the coming year and would once again like to remind our connections that we are always interested in hearing their ideas and views on better ways of providing evacuation or moving and handling solutions and we are always happy to sign a confidentiality agreement to protect their intellectual property rights.
